Born in the UK and raised in Yorkshire, Carl’s entrepreneurial journey began in the 1980s with a career in real estate. After immigrating to Australia in 1993, he launched his own chain of telecommunications stores. From a single shop in Leichhardt, Sydney, Carl expanded to 26 stores across three states, demonstrating his exceptional ability to scale businesses through innovative marketing and operational strategies.
In 2001, after selling his telecommunications business, Carl acquired a small marketing agency and soon redirected its focus to the dental sector. By 2002, he had specialised in helping dentists grow their practices through professional, results-driven marketing campaigns. Carl’s deep understanding of both marketing and the dental industry has enabled him to deliver measurable success for his clients.

He is the founder of the Marketing Dentistry Institute, which has hosted world-renowned international speakers including Dr Bill Dorfman, Dr Howard Farran, and Dr Mark Costes. Carl is a regular columnist for Australasian Dentist Magazine and has authored over 80 published papers on dental marketing, practice management, and business strategy, in addition to ghost-writing for leaders within the profession.
